The Real McCoy's Buco J-100 Leather Jacket Black

The Real McCoy's Buco J-100 Leather Jacket Black

Buco was a famous leather jacket manufacturer founded in 1933 as the 'Joseph Buegeleisen Co', and were one of the first producers specialising in motorcycle accessories and bags. A few years later they developed their full apparel line promising "Motorcycle jackets, gloves, caps, belts & bags all cut and sewn by lifelong craftsmen to the task at hand".

Manufacturing was maintained entirely at an in-house factory, allowing the brand to produce the highest quality leather jackets available on the market at the time. The horsehide rider’s jackets produced during 1940s-50s are considered their iconic pieces. The Real McCoy's have acquired the licence to produce the brand and do so with due diligence and expertise in Japan.

The J-100 & J-24 were two biker jackets that put Joseph Buegeleisen's Buco brand on the map. Developed in 1953, The J-100 jacket is considered to be one of the most iconic depictions of a classic 'Cafe Racer' style.

Each leather jacket manufactured by The Real McCoy's is made entirely by one highly trained, skilled craftsman, manufactured in their Kobe HQ. McCoy's use a vegetable tanned, pigment finished Shinki horsehide, with each piece hand cut for every jacket.  "Rich Water Resistant Black Finish"; a term coined in vintage Buco sales catalogs and similar to original leathers. The leather is a brown core with a black finish that over time will wear away revealing the brown wear in high stress areas, known as tea-core (sleeves, cuffs & front placket especially).

The J-100 also features a lightweight rayon lining while the zip front uses a custom McCoy square front zipper. The sleeves use a 50's style Talon zip while the two chest pockets feature 7 chain link zippers while a Buco dot button is used on the collar.
