The pattern & construction of this pull-over denim hooded jacket is a reproduction of the iconic USN Denim anti-gas parka, better known as the Gunner Smock. Â Designed as a combination protective outfit developed by the US Navy specifically for use with the Navy Series gas masks.
Cut in Japan to Anatomica's exacting standards, the USN Gunners Parka/Smock uses a dry, unwashed unlined 11 oz denim and is a faithful reproduction with an updated fit for modern day. All original features are present such as the pull-over design with a half triple-layered button-up closure, drawstring cord around the hood & hem while there are two straps on either side of the hood and two external patch pockets with flap closure. The size tag is hand-embroidered to the rear. Originally designed as a protective top layer of other garments this Parka is equally at home layered up or thrown over a t-shirt.Â
